I got a 3" tank lift for my 2006 Bob and I finally got around to putting it on tonight....I have a small problem. I got the breather line and crossover fuel line off, but when I try to lift the front of the tank, the smaller wire harness of the 2 harnesses wont allow me to lift the tank more than about 1 1/2" more than stock. I've pulled and tugged on that wire loom as hard as I care too without fear of breaking a connection and there just isnt anymore slack.
any ideas?
you are correct sir! I took the console off and saw that the wire loom was wrapped around the bracket. after unwrapping the wire loom, I had plenty of slack!
I haven't done mine yet, but after looking it over, it appeared to me that all I will need to do with the breather tube is snip the zip tie holding it in place (on the outside)...Is there actually more to it than that?

THANKS!
There can be.
The breather tube is 3 pieces. 2 lengths of tubing, 7/16ths I think, and a philter/valve kinda deal.
You can just snip the tie, and let it ride up. I replace the tube phrom the connection on the phrame to the valve.
I've looked into these lift kits for my Wide. Is it necessary to move the fuel petcock back with the tank front elevated? Seems like the petcock would be in the dry sooner.
