Default need a seat and forward extensions

I just picked up my '10 wide glide and need a seat and extensions for my 6'3" frame! I haven't heard anything good about the bare bones seat but i need something to lower my body into the frame... I want to also get apes for my ape like arms... where is the best place to get cables and lines for 16" apes I have been thinking about the dropping the rear but I am 215 so I dont want to bottom out too much...any help on my best options will be greatly appreciated

I reccomend C&C seats, the fast back especially. As for forward controls. If you dont want to go the expensive route, you can get around a 3" extension kit for 1/3rd of the price of a full forward controls set.. I am thinking about dropping mine as well. Search this forum and double check if your willing to take the risk. You will find some who dont bottom out, and some that do. So...just be aware what could happen. Your my size so im in the worry mode myself.

The barebones is a great looking seat but not comfortable for very long. I had one and sold it and bought a Mustang Tripper Solo. Still not a touring seat but OH, SO much better comfort-wise than the barebones. And still low enough to feel more "in" the bike. It took me a couple of years to work it all out but with the Mustang seat and Kuryakyn extended forward controls, my bike finally feels like it fits me like a glove (I'm 6'4"). I like my seat so much, that I also sold my stock 2-up seat and my Tallboy touring seat and just picked up a matching Mustang pillion for the old lady to ride on.

The T-bars I got early on and they were a big improvement over stock as well for me, as far as riding position. I don't think I'll ever be able to relate apes and comfort but to each his own.

By the way, as for dropping the rear, I think all of the dyna's have 12" rear shocks now, right? Mine had 12.6" and I dropped down to 12" (Progressive 412 heavy duties) with no problems and I weighed more than you at the time and have a wider than stock rear tire. Have never bottomed out even with the wife on the bike and the shocks set on the medium preload.

You would be wise to look into the Le Pera Maverick - Daddy Long Legs seat. Moves the rider 2" back, but still looks low profile and clean with passenger room. Good luck.
