Welcome from Michigan, and congrats on your new Harley. Be sure it runs good and shifts good with no oil dripping off and you should be good to go. If you never had a Harley V-twin they do vibrate more then a lot of the metric bikes but that's just part of the feel...Good luck and ride safe.
Thanks to all for the congrats. I rode it home from San Fran. Had to do it. I haven't ridden a bike in years. Loved it!!! Rode it yesterday and rode it today. Can't get enough. It has another 3 years on the warranty.
The only drawback is that it was parked next to the beach and may have been left outside. Light rusty specs on the chrome, but that came off. All the aluminum has hazy white spots and black spots. Tried buffing the best I could and it came out much better but nowhere near perfect. Any ideas on the aluminum?
The motor and case came out nice with S100!!!!
Do you all know if you can put a layer of wax on the denim black tank and fenders? I waxed it on and waxed it off and it looks swirly?
If you find a good way to clean up the rims let me know. When I bought my FB I think the PO had used some wrong chemicals to clean the wheels cause mine have that same dull haze and pitting from brake dust
A little touchy about light-hearted banter. You will need thicker skin around here. With your many previous bikes, you should possess vast knowledge of what to look for on a used bike.
You have chosen well should you complete your purchase of the Fat Bob. The Fat Bob is my first Harley as well, and I have found the stock seat superbly comfortable for several cross-country rides and fine for just everyday riding.
I would'nt expect anybody to want to spend much time as a pax on the rear perch of the stock seat however.
If you test the bike and are looking for a shimmy, it is easy to find and your mentioned speed (70mph) is guaranteed to get you a bit of a shimmy even if everything is up to spec (tires, alignment, etc)...... all you ned to do is lean the bike WELL OVER for a sweeping curve at above 60 mph and you will find the back end doing its own thing..... transmitting a feeling to you of being on humongous wandering freeway rain grooves. At speeds under 60 mph, if all is up to spec you can crank that beast WAY on over and it will track tight corners if on rails.
Mine is raised a little over an inch and corners very well in full lean at less than 60 mph.
Love the Fat Bob, a superbly capable canyon carver....for a big cruiser
I don't think your right hand press was aggressive enough. Should have got the whole damn peg!

NO NO NO , USE HARLEY GLOSS OR WINDEX ON DENIM PAINT , I THINK YOU JUST RUINED YOUR PAINT JOB BECAUSE THE DENIMS DON'T GET SWIRL MARKS , HOPEFULLY YOU CAN BUFF THEM OUT ....

F**k Really!!! I'll wash it with dishwashing detergent and start over, hopefully.

I use this product Zoop Seal... Best stuff I have ever used from dirt bikes, snowmobiles, truck rims, and now my scoot... Its about $100, but I think we have all learned by now YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!
