Buying my first Harley
You have chosen well should you complete your purchase of the Fat Bob. The Fat Bob is my first Harley as well, and I have found the stock seat superbly comfortable for several cross-country rides and fine for just everyday riding.
I would'nt expect anybody to want to spend much time as a pax on the rear perch of the stock seat however.
If you test the bike and are looking for a shimmy, it is easy to find and your mentioned speed (70mph) is guaranteed to get you a bit of a shimmy even if everything is up to spec (tires, alignment, etc)...... all you ned to do is lean the bike WELL OVER for a sweeping curve at above 60 mph and you will find the back end doing its own thing..... transmitting a feeling to you of being on humongous wandering freeway rain grooves. At speeds under 60 mph, if all is up to spec you can crank that beast WAY on over and it will track tight corners if on rails.
Mine is raised a little over an inch and corners very well in full lean at less than 60 mph.
Love the Fat Bob, a superbly capable canyon carver....for a big cruiser

There's nothing magical about them! There a motorcycle!
