Running a 08 SG with Lepera BB saddle. I need more comfort for longer rides, for sure. Choices boiled down to Lepera Sil Deluxe, Corbin Hollywood solo, CC solo, and Danny Grey weekday solo.
Anybody got some experience between these choices. I'll keep the BB for the bar hopper look, at least that's the plan. Maybe the new seat will change my mind.......
I'm biased but I'd add the Mustang Tripper Solo to your list. I replaced my barebones with it and couldn't be happier. It still has a low narrow look to it but just enough more quality padding to make longer rides more comfortable. I like mine so much, I sold all of my other seats and bought a p-pad to match it for the wife to ride on. I hear the C&C's are a nice alternative too but have never tried one.
I did my first semi-long ride on it this past weekend. 3 hours to the beach on Saturday and 3 hours back on it on Tuesday morning and stopped once each way - and that was mainly for gas.
Hi Greg,
I'm the guy who bought your bare bones! Really like it, but need more for longer rides, as you know. Thanks for the input on the tripper, I'll certainly consider it.
Hey, I loved the barebones, especially the look but also the riding position. It was surprisingly comfortable for about 45 minutes and then it was like it turned into a brick. Anyway, just wanted to let you know my experience. At one time, I had 2 2-up seats and a solo and had different needs/uses for all of them. Now, the only seat I own is the Mustang and the p-pad and can use them for everything I do. I've had the bike over 3 years now and really long trips just aren't in the cards for me I've come to realize. And even if one comes up, I'm still going to want to stop every 100 miles or so and this seat gets me there comfortably. I haven't regretted selling you the barebones at all. I still get a pretty good look with this one so I would probably never swap it out for the BB if I still had it. Doesn't mean I don't think the BB is a sweet seat, just wish I could have gotten a few more miles out of it on each ride. I think it's the best looking solo seat on a dyna period. But the tripper ain't bad and neither are some of those C&C's I see.
