Was reading in another topic about the sears motorcycle lift. Someone said that they think you need an adapter to put a Dyna on a lift. Does anyone have any info on this or part numbers if it is needed ?
That was me, all the dynas need these plastic adapters that are available from the dealer on any lift because of the pan that hangs below the frame. Some have fashioned plywood strips to cradle the frame instead of the adapters and they work also, just make sure to strap the bike down to the lift.

Part numbers are available at Home Depot, or Lowes.
Here it is..................... 2x4
There is a guard that sticks below on the RH side towards the rear that protects the tranny.
The bike will not lift straight with that in the way of the lift arms.
Cut a 6" piece and a 16" piece. Lay the short one on the back lift arm opposite the guard, and the long one on the front lift arm where the lift contacts the front. The bike will now lift straight up and is much easier to work on like this. Especially for us old farts that dont bend over so well anymore.
Presto..................nothin up my sleeve Rocky!
I bought the Sears Lift on Sat. while they were still on sale for $79.99 and almost bought the $21.95 lift brackets from Harley but decided to wait and add it to my order with M&M. Now I think that I will try Mike's solution. Only problem is that I already have some 2" x 4"'s, so I don't get to make the trip to Lowe's. Art
