Default Techlusions DFO fuel management

I won an older DFO unit on Ebay for $11 (included shipping)
I am only using it for a changed out exhaust system and air filter change out.
I do not plan on any other engine, intake or exhaust mods.
It has these connectors that are suppose to go between the fuel injector connectors.
I read somewhere (now I don't know where) that these connectors should be cut and standard insulated terminals should be used.
Anyone have a feedback on this?
thanks

What model TFI/DFO are you talking about, and what year bike?
I run a ST1340 DFO on an 06 Bob, and it all plugs right in.
Are you trying to mod a older version with the screwdriver adjusting pots, or the newer with the lights and push button adjusters?

Seems the earlier ones had to be spliced inti the injectors wiring, the one I have plug right into the injector and the bikes wiring plugs into the DFO plugs. Did you get the instructions with it?

I have an 05 wide glide.
And I think the model is a 1040st but it doesn't say anywhere on it.

I think I have somewhat of an older model....not sure how old.
It does have the plug in connectors but it also has the screw driver pods. I think there are lights above each pod though.

I had an '02 FLHTPI that I put a DFO on in 2004. Sounds like you have the same DFO. If you have the adapter wiring plugs, use it. Back in '04 you could order the DFO with or without the adapter kit.

I see the new kits do no have the connecting plugs; the pictures show that they come with standard hardware store insulated quick disconnects.
Other blogs and comments suggest cutting off the connectors and going with something else.
Is there anything wrong with the connectors that anyone knows of?
