OK....
I have an 08 FXDC with Thunder Headers and K&N cone style breather and the PCIII....
My pipes are painted Flat Black....Butt now the first 12" or so of the pipes are turning white....Is this a good thing or Bad....Is it just because the pipes are white under the black....?
And my bikes runs great but a lot of popping and noise on let off....sounds good....Butt is this an indication of bad tuning...?
I get about 35 Miles per while rideing hard....befor the green lite comes on....
Thanks to all for any help or suggestions....
most thunderheaders I see have their pipes discoloring to white. As far as decell pop, yeah the tuning may need to be adjusted a bit. you could also have a leak in the exhaust or intake.
yeah, tuning or exhaust leak at one of the connections. otherwise the thunderheader is one of the best exhaust systems for full scavanging of exhaust gases, shouldn't have popping.
My TH ocassionally pops after some heavy throttle but it does more of a grumble on decel at normal cruising. I knew it was mostly because I need to get a tune done. Hopefully I'll get that pipe singin this thursday.
The popping was explained to me as unburned gases hitting the air and then igniting in the pipe or something to that affect.
