Need help with possible solutions to throttle hand buzz...

There's your problem! You are wearing gloves which are way too small for you. By the time you have wrapped your hand around the grip the glove puts even more pressure on the entire outside, placing pressure on the entire hand. This strangles the circulation in your hand. Ask me how I know.
Along with a change of gloves, try the rubber Kury throttle aid. These give you many options for changing your grip.
There is no need to start modifying your bike.
Hmmmm... I have always believed in try the simplest thing first (you'll never believe how often "is it plugged in" solved network problems - LOLOLOLOL). I can see your point. So maybe a larger set of gloves will be a first try.
I never heard of someone getting permanent damage from a motorcycle throttle, but I guess most of us do get some numbness or buzzing/tingling on a long ride. I have the Throttle Mate (little aluminum lever) on the throttle tensioner, underneath by the cables. I'll tighten it on the highway so I use less grip and can also rest my hand periodically on my leg or shake it a bit or play with the ol' lady's leg. I never have it set to NO tension because that makes for all those little blips you don't want when hitting bumps or holes.
The loose glove suggestion was the best in your case.
i'll be trying some of this stuff out as my next round of mods (gotta let the CC cool off for a few months). my left hand is no problem, but even using the right ring/little finger to maintain throttle on the highway I noticed at one point my thumb had gone completely numb when I went to signal a lane change ... not sure what thats about, seemed to come and go (numbness) in my right hand even making a point to wiggle thumb/trigger/middle fingers for blood flow
i think a throttle boss or throttle lock are on the list along w/ the iso grips - the lock seems the most likely since that'll let me take my right hand off for a bit and get my hand below shoulder height
Ok I've read the posts and my suggestion is to try tilting your bars back about an inch and go ride it. If that dosn't do it try putting them an inch forward of their original position. It's free and easy and just might take care of the problem, i went back an inch. can't hurt to try!!---jack
As stated before, lose the tight gloves, loosen your grip, try resting your index and middle finger on the levers that will force you to relax your grip, you will find that will work wonders. LOOSE grip.
The Kury ISO grips do work, which is why I run them. The rubber on the grips will help you to be able to just lay your hand on the throttle when you are cruising instead of gripping it.
Most importantly...relax and enjoy the ride. If you feel the numbness start, drop and wiggle your hand for a couple seconds when you are coasting.
I also get more tingly feeling when I wear my tighter fitting gloves. Try looser fitting gloves first like someone already suggested.
After the 2000 mile ride in 45 hours we did a couple weeks ago it took about 3 days to get the feeling back in 2 fingers on my throttle hand. I was really worried I wasn't going to get the feeling back.
That is one hell of a ride... How many days was that 2K over? And those kinds of rides are ultimately why I need to solve this problem. I had planned on a cross country this year - until I figured out the costs of needed mods plus cost of the trip itself - AND THEN THE EX wife pulled a fast one on me.
But I will do my cross country - and this vibration thing (with a lot of MUCH appreciated help from you and the rest of the folks here) will be solved and not be a reason not to do my thing. :-)
And thanks guys for ALL of your suggestions... I have tried to run a "v" grip to give my hand some relief but that gets uncomfortable as well.....I will try the pinky/ring finger variation as well. As it is, I wiggle and wiggle my fingers but it just doesn't seem to do enough, you know?
Like I said I think I might try the looser glove route first...but I really do hate floppy finger ends I get when I am wearing larger gloves. Stubby handed guys have some unique obstacles to deal with. LOL
