That's one heck of a sidecar you got there Wendell Sorry couldn't resist!
Green is considered bad luck because it's associated with evil - well here in the UK it is. Traditionally (until recently) the devil was always depicted in green.
Back in the early 80s I bought a green car, my old mum said at the time that I should never have bought it as it would be unlucky. I said, "Yes Mum - of course" and patted her on the head thinking she was a loony. 3 weeks later someone caved a door in on it in a car park. I've never bought anything with wheels on in green since!
Well, I guess me, my Hubby and our Daughter are all SCREWED........... since we all own Green Harley's. Daughter has the identical 2006 FLSTC/I that her Dad has.
We can easily spot our bikes in a crowd....and they always get a second look or comment. So far, no bad luck or problems....... ( KNOCK ON WOOD)
BTW....... read somewhere that Green painted bikes were considered to be an UNLUCKY color back in the early days of harley racing circa 1900's.
Yeah, my Dad told me that when I was a kid. I also heard that it came from being marked rider back in WW2. I've never owned a green bike but I know several who have with no issues so far... I'm too chicken **** to find out...
I personally love the Green color. Its certianly different and set apart from the standard, Blue, Black, Orange that we know to be HD.
Green Gold, Silver, Heck even that Denim Blue are fantastic colors that HD put on. I'm anxious to see if they apply these colors and more in years to come follow.
Hey!!! I was hit in a parking lot, just a few weeks after I bought my Gloss BLACK FatBoB.
If you're destined to get hit, you get hit. I don't think any color bike will increase your likelihood of an accident. Unless you paint it Digital Camoflauged. Similiar to that of the Army. Then cagers can really say ... " I'm soo sorry, I didn't see you."
