Default fatbob/wideglide?

To keep it simple. What is the difference in the way they ride. someone told me that a fatbob rides and handles better than the wideglide. Others thoughts on this please.

I can't say anything about the Glide cause I've never ridden one. I can say that I think the Fat Bob handles really well. I've been surprised. It's my first Harley and I wasn't expecting that much in the way of handling but I'm pretty comfortable on the bike. It stops really well too.

you gotta ride em both and see for yourself. Individual experiences can not define what they feel, as one may prefer one feel to another... Like how someone might rather drive a Lexus where another prefers BMW.

+1 Gotta ride 'em both. These are both great bikes, so it comes down to which one YOU like riding the best.

I test rode both of them a few months ago before buying my first bike. After riding both, I bought the Fat Bob. The riding position and bars were more comfortable for me. I'm 6 ft. 170. The handling was a close race, but I felt more comfortable pushing the limits with the Fat Bob. Push them both when you test ride and walk away with the one that feels the most comfortable. Trust me...you'll know.

Take them both out. if the dealer says no, go somewhere else. I took them both out and ended up with the fat bob. I just liked the look of the fatter tire better. On the test ride, they felt similar. that may or may not hold true on all road conditions.

I had come down to the choice between these two bikes as well. I love the look of the Wide Glide. But after riding the Fat Bob I felt it was much more comfortable (more padded seat). I also thought it handled and braked far better. Long story short I have decided to go with the Fat Bob. I've ridden bikes at Victory Demo days, (the Kingpin, Cross Roads and Hammer S and the new Triumph Thunderbird and for kicks and curiosities sake the VRod Muscle. I feel that the Street Bob is by far the nicest of any of them.

I don't know why I wrote Street Bob. I meant the Fat Bob.

I have ridden both (Fat Bob was my dads before he bought the Springer).I loved the handling of the Bob as it handled more like a conventional bike (which is what i was used to) but when it came to it i preferred the looks of the Glide.Plus i came back to Harleys because i was riding like an idiot on my last bike so i wanted to calm down, the Bob inspires you to push a bit more in the corners and brake a bit later etc.

Both great bikes but i wouldn't trade the Glide for one (or for anything really, yes i love it that much!).

As said before, ride them both and pick the one you like the most.

I have never ridden the Wide Glide, but I would imagine with those raked out front fork, it will be pretty slow steering compared the steeper geometry of the Fat Bob. The two discs are bound to help the Fat Bob stop too.

In the end I bought the Fat Bob because I like the look. I was surprised how well it handled, but I'm sure the wide glide would have been fine too. What I have noticed that the big front tyres really soaks up the bumps on our pretty poor local roads.
