OK I have a brand new set of 2010 Street Bob tins which will eventually make it onto my 06 but I have no tail light and the 10 Street Bob fender has a good size hole where the tail light goes not to mention 3 mounting holes so what options do I have?
The obvious choice would be a Sparto style tail light off of a Street Bob and I may go that route but real Sparto tail lights are about half the cost will they work?
And what about those tail light/turn signal/plate bracket things? has anybody used one of those? I thought about just mounting my plate over the hole but I don't think it will cover all the mounting holes and I currently have my plate bolted to the fender and don't like the way it looks.
I can't cover the hole and go to a side mount because it won't work with my saddle bags.Any ideas would be appreciated.
I think the sparto taillight in black looks really good. I wonder if you can set the plate up so it mounts under the fender similar to the way some do it on wideglides and a lot of sportbikes do. There is a side mount curved licence holder that extends from the axle and radiuses at the same point as your belt. This may give enough room for your bags depending on the size of them. Something like these. http://www.customdynamics.com/side_m...nse_plates.htm
ed here are a few sites i use for lighting... so are you looking to do a tail light on the rear fender or in your turn sigs. have you thought about cutting it out and glassing in a light? it is pretty easy just time consuming, but with the fender off would be a breeze to do http://www.taillightking.com/
I chopped my fender then installed the 09-10 HD street bob tail light.. It's expensive but the quality is excellent, and it's made in the USA & has led light. I don't think the cheap made in china sparto lights compare. I've always liked the style.. my first bike had the same:
I have a brand spanking new vivid black Street Bob fender and the idea of chopping or drilling it or anything else that would require me repainting it doesn't really appeal to me.There's a Street Bob tail light on Ebay for $50 but the plug's missing I think that's a bit high for something that's not quite complete. The Spartos run 17.99 but I doubt the bolt pattern would match up.It'll be awhile before I'm ready to tear into it anyway there's still too much good riding weather left but I appreciate the input.
PS, anybody got a good complete Street bob tail light for sale hit me up I'm in the market.
The SB tail light doesnt come with a plug. the plug is part of the tail light wiring harness. You would have to get the harness or buy a plug & splice it to your harness.
