Does anybody know the stock length eye to eye on a 2006 Street Bob ? i know they have changed though the years so i want the correct size for mine , i'm going back to stock but i don't have mine anymore so i will be looking to buy a set very soon.
Stock is 12" for my '06 Street Bob. I'm currently running Harley's Profile Low rear shocks that will lower the Street Bob another 1/4" over using the 12" stock shocks. I'm not sure of the actual eye to eye length of the Profile Low shocks tho.
You can go even lower with aftermarket shocks. I have a set of 11.5" Progressive 440s. And you can take it all the way down to 11" shocks if you're going for the "slammed" look. But the lower you go, the less compliant the suspension will be over rough roads. 11" shocks can be jarring over the larger bumps.
Your shock supplier will know. I recommend you do not buy a box of shocks off the shelf, but find a supplier and brand who will custom build them to your requirements. Having done that recently myself the improvement is remarkable!
If you go to the progressive suspension web site you can look it up and know for sure.
Click the "What fits my ride" link, it will show all the options and the stock size is red or bold.
http://worksperformance.com/html/street.html the stock shocks are 12" long. I posted the works site, cause you could buy some 11.5 or 12" shocks for only 425 bucks in all black. They build for your weight and riding style. Personally, if you gonna spend money spend a few bucks more and get the good stuff. Ricor are even better but they be about 650. Oh, for god sakes get the new mounting hardware stud system. IMHO, you get the studs you won't have this problem again, even using those 11" shocks.

Can't afford it right now , i don't trust the progressive shocks anymore , i might try the stud system with them but if it happens a 3rd time
