Default MSD shift light

I got my 06 Superglide back from the Custom Performance dyno. Nick tuned my PCIII to 94 HP and 98 ft. lb. of torque! I wanted to be able to twist all this power so I bought an MSD 8963 shift light. They cost around $120 and the install went pretty easy using the accessory plug under the seat for power and just clamp on a tiny GMR pickup on the coil power wire. I set it to light at 6000 and now I can really haul because I know where red line is. One drawback is this light goes through a self test every time you start the bike so it blinks like a red xmas light!!

This shift light will let you set the RPM for 4 gears. Kind of a pain in the rear for me as I just want 6000 in all gears. One thing that is cool is it really is a digital mini tach. I can see my idle speed, etc. It is just too small to use as a tach all the time......... Yes, it is six LED's and you can set the brightness level from one to nine.

This is the 8963, I got it at a local speed shop. hard to find online, best price is an Ebay store. I have had 3 shift lights over the years. All required you buy a set of RPM pills to plug in for shift points. This is the first digital one and lets you programm everyting with buttons. the GMR clamp will clamp injectors or coil wires, making it super easy. It even has a tiny digital tack and you can see RPM! I clamped the coil Ion wire (grey) and set the rpm for 6000 and cylinders as ONE and it worked like a champ!http://www.msdpowersports.com
