Not my bike....

It will look like this, I believe JP cycles sells a base adapter to correct angle.

I don't think that your superglide has to extra length in it's speedo wiring harness to accommodate the scenario that HDDyna suggested anyway. In order to put risers on your bike and keep the speedo wiring harness in stock form will require a lot more work or else money than is immediately apparent. There isn't any adapter kit made to bolt to the risers that will also accomodate your speedo and idiot lights that I know of, and I've I done my looking.

I think that JerseyDevil and Glydiator found their solutions, but you aren't going to appreciate the amount of work required to get there.

I, myself, chose to go with Glydiator's solution, but it will only work with risers with at least an inch of verticle free mounting space before the risers start their bend. For that method, even my 5-1/2" risers were tight due to the one-piece top bar clamps that limited the speedo positioning. Both solutions will require relocating the idiot lights to your gas tank console and doing a lot of rewiring and fabricatiion work. FXD's just aren't popular in the aftermarket accessory department, so we have to make our own stuff.

For just the ease of simplicity and cost , I'd just buy bars with the height and pull-back that you desire and leave the risers alone. That way you can still use the stock speedo/idiot light combo and not have to concern yourself with the trouble involved with the above.

On the other hand, you might still prepare yourself for the need to extend your control cables in order to accommodate your increased bar height and pull-back. Budget about $300 for this and educate yourself on brake bleeding, etc.

This stuff isn't always as easy as it sounds.

Personally, I like the taller risers and drag bars, but I'm still experimenting. My FXD's buckhorns had to go and the handling difference between them and the risers/drag bars was beyond description...A totally different bike.

I put night train bars on mine. I had to lengthen the speedo harness a few inches. It can certainly be done and it's not that hard to do. I spliced the additional length on using aircraft environmental splices...it's a good connection and waterproof. I was told that there was some slack in the wiring tucked under the tank. There was but not enough.
