94 Wide Glide tank help
Never fails. Spent all winter going through the scooter, dump a little over 3 grand into and I'm still not riding. Was having all kinds of fuel problems ever since putting a Forcewinder cleaner on it. Re-jet, needle move, complete rebuilt carb and still fuel problems. Should of done the smart thing (not really me, but..) turns out the liner is coming a part in my tank. So my question is......I am going to remove the tank, clean and strip the old liner with acetone and shake and rattle parts. Not going to mess with a new liner at this time as thanks to unmentioned people I now have my first dent in my tank (think that is why the liner broke down)But just want to clean the old one out and then this next winter strip the tank, re-line and fresh paint. What I would like to know is...is it necessary and if so how in the heck do I remove the fuel level gauge and sending unit? Also after cleaning the tank once with gas to remove all the big chips. It appears that I have the opposite problem, it seems now that I now have too much fuel going to carb. I re-jetted as suggested when installing the Forcewinder one up from stock and moved the needle set up a notch. Should I now go back to the original settings and jets? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
