My 09 FXDL has 6000 miles and I have been offered $16500.00 fo it. If someone wants one bad enough they will pay to get one now. As long as Harley says there will be no more Low Riders the price will not go down for them. If anything you may see the price go up.

Isn't the KBB price for a used bike? Sounds like the dealer still has it stickered at close to what it would have been in 09, given the two tone and the shipping charge of $330. Toss in "dealer prep" and the original sticker would likely have been $16500 or so.

The local dealer had a "huge 3 day warehouse sale!!!!!" last weekend where they opened up their second floor warehouse and had a bunch of left over 09s and used bikes. I was shocked at the prices they were asking - for example, $11,000 for a 2000 FXDL with about 10k miles and only minor mods - sissy bar, pipes, etc.

I think there are two factors at play here. The first is the normal raise the prices when the weather gets nice and people start thinking they really always wanted to have a motorcycle. The second is wishful thinking - if enough dealers start raising prices on leftovers and used bikes back to the way they were a few years ago, maybe it will catch on. I see the same on craigslist - private sellers who either don't have a clue or are hoping PT Barnum was right and their sucker will come along any minute.

I also see many of these same bikes reposting on cl time after time. And the dealer seems to have the same leftovers ever time I go by. Value isn't measured by the asking price but rather by the selling price.

To be fair I just checked the NADA site
http://www.nadaguides.com/default.as...54&c=1&s=26639

and got a higher price. They have places to let you check any extras on the bike that KBB didn't have. It raised the price to $15,754. TTL, prep and freight would be extra so their price could end up in the high 17's.

I don't understand this. I called the dealer this morning and spoke with them about the low rider. a clean deal price is 14.9K and if you have a trade in it is 16.2K. Why the mark up for a trade? The dealer should make a profit selling the traded bike as well as a profit on the new bike end.
