Leather conditioner

My new C&C solo seat instructions say to condition the leather periodically to help prevent excessive wrinkling and to keep the leather from cracking. I tried some Lexol conditioner but don't really like the feel it leaves - seems to stay a bit tacky.

Any recommendations on conditioners?

My experience with Lexol is that you need to let it absorb into the leather. Then buff it with a clean dry cloth.

Yeah, did that I think. Followed the sparse directions and let it sit "a few minutes" (about 10) then wiped off any excess. Gave it another 45 minutes or so then buffed it out with a soft old tshirt and it still seems tacky or sticky. I figure I'll buff it again in the morning before I head to work.

I've been using the Lexol on my horse tack and motorcycle leather for a long time ... keeps everything nice.

Surprisingly (to me anyway), the H-D Leather Dressing (p/n 98261-91V) is excellent. It leaves no residue or tacky feeling, and even provides a degree of waterproofing. You do have to let it sit overnight though before buffing off. For quick touch-ups, I use Pinnacle Leather Cleaner & Conditioner. Thanks. Took a quick look and obviously I need to spend some time reading what they have to say in order to buy intelligently, but it looks like good stuff.

BTW, how is sticking a cat to the wall an incorrect use of duct tape? I consider it a very humane alternative to my first choice.
