Cool idea Chips. I just leave mine on the seat, and if the g/f is along, I leave hers on the sissy bar. But she's about to get the boot, so I won't have to worry about her helmet anymore.
Most of the runs I go to....Have plenty of Prospects and hang arounds out in the parking lot watching things....
At a 1% run you would have to be nuts to try to steal anything....
When I'm someplace where I'm not real sure about just leaving it hang... I loop it through something. That way, a potential thief can't just walk by and scoop it up. If the strap is laced through the risers they have to stop and monkey with for awhile.
I picked up a matched set of these from Home Depot, but I hardly ever use them. Most times my helmet just sits on the seat. When I'm going to be gone a long time, and I'm in an area where scumbags abound, I'll put one through the d-ring of my helmet, then around the stalk of my mirror, and another to secure my T-bag to the rear luggage rack.

Hope she doesn't hang on the forum. I am pretty sure dumped by message board is worse than by text message..
If I am where there are other bikes I leave the helmet on the bike.
If I am not I take it with me..
I would be surprised if someone would steal my girlly FF with rhinestones on it but you never know.
+1 on the handcuffs. Yes the keys are widely available, but I mean if someone really wants your helmet, then they are going to get it no matter how you secure it. Plus, if you are really worried about your helmet getting jacked at an event, either don't go or take your helmet with you.
I have never had any problems but that's because the people I hang with tend to frown if you start locking up **** on your bike (insult to them).
