You'd think they would come up with a stiffer compound. Those things can't hold up well being that soft. Hell after this years winter I had to pick up all the dead ones off my lawn after ripped up by my snow-blower. They are soft at -10. Hell they are hard to even walk on in warmer temps, much less corner with a mc.
Yeah, tires are brand new Michelin Scorchers 100/90 19 and 160/70 17. 2 months old with just 2700 miles on them so I wouldn't think they'd be the problem. At least I hope not, cause I love the way they feel at all other times. Front end seems the most un-nerving, Even at slow speeds it feels like the forks are trying to go in different directions when they hit.
I'm thinking the problem is less tires and more that Dynas need a True-Track. They should come from the factor with these motor mounts. Of all the mods I've made to my bike, this one made the biggest difference. I can take both hands off the bars while coasting and I don't feel insecure in the least.

Steve
I was wondering if that'd make a difference. Since that mod is in my plans I'll have to see.
The Metzeler is a softer compound than the stock Dunlop. More traction over the tar snakes. I still prefer my Dunlop for it's durability.
HUH???? Reading tire threads shows me they aren't any better at that than anything else out there - unless maybe you're speaking of the E3's.
Durability goes all to crap in a ditch.
Had some sphincter clenching moments myself on the road that leads up the mountain to where I live. Thankfully just 2 days ago the local authority started resurfacing the road, only took them 11 years to get around to it. Road literally had more tar than asphalt on some sections, and always on the corners.

Not going to get into a tire preference debate cause everyone has their own opinions, riding style, and experiences. But be careful not to compare old, worn out tires of XX brand with brand new YY brand tires. All brands (IME) will track tar snakes more when the tread gets thin.
