I just ran my wires internally and i spliced and soldered the wires together(i know, should've used the connectors, but I went to the dealership when i broke mine and they said it would be overnight, been 6 days no part and to top it off, they ordered the wrong thing)
anyway, the bike runs, but I keep blowing one fuse, it takes out both turn signals, brake light, horn, and speedo. Any ideas what must be causing this, i've checked the wires umpteen million times, but I must be missing something.

if your connectios are solid, Mud is spot on, you most likely reversed the wires.
if your connections are loose, look to see if theyre making contact, chancesare theyre shorting out at the rubbing spot. most likely inside the handlebars..
one more thing, check the connections as well as the fuse blox for corrosion atthe contacts.. a lil corrosion can at times cause a bridge between 2 fuses, causing shorts.
Take the hand controls loose from the bars and see if it blows the fuse. If it doesn't blow you know the wiring is grounding when you tighten the controls. The problem is most likely being caused by the the most previous work that was done. Don't ask me how I know.
Sounds like a short in the controls, that is probably one of the easiest and most common causes of what you describe. As mentioned remove the controls, make sure nothing is touching each other or metal, and try it with the controls loose or off the bars, this will tell you if that is the case.If it is, just be very careful putting them back on.
all wires are matched up, color coded. it shorts out as soon as i turn the ignition switch. i had everything working until i tucked all the wires back into the frame. but i've taken all the wires out and still the same things do not work and still blowing fuse, i will take controls back off when i get home from work. argh

do i need to pull the wires out of the bars as well?
