Default HELP!! Turn signal relocation!

i have an 07 superglide. I am installing a signal relocation kit because I am putting detatch sissy bar on. I am to the part where i have to thread the signal wires through the bar turn signal. problem is i cant get the wires threaded through, the insulation is too thick! What do I do? can i strip the insulation off? Please help a brother out...getting way frustrated!!!!!

You have 2 options, strip the insulation, then apply some shrink tube to protect it, or
Take a slightly larger drill and make the hole through the bolt larger, this is what I did, I bumped the size up by 1/64" at a time till it fit. Just make sure you leave enough to support the signal.

On my old bar, it snapped off where the threads meet the cylinder part - thats by stripping out the insulation. So I cant recommend drilling it out and making it any thinner.

I would up getting the relocate light kit from easy brackets. Uses the struts from your original turn signal and looks strudier. But still one bolt holding it to the frame.

Good luck.

i used a stock kit from haley for rear signal relocation on an 09 super glide. I remember it was dooable, but a pain. i cant remember exactly, but are the connectors still on the wire? maybe u have ot cut one or both off, ar stagger the wires, pull one all the way trhough then the other.

I remember after doing it that i had to take it apart for some reason, and it was easy to redo. sorry , cant be of more hellp

Just drill it out a little bigger!

The destructions actually tell you to strip off about 6 inches of the insulation.

Prob is that if you do manage to get it through with the insulation on, you'll ruin the wires when you screw the indicator fitting back on to the stalk as the wires wont be able to turn in the stalk, will bind up, and possibly break inside the insulation or rip themselves out of the crimps on the light fitting.

I followed the destructions, then taped up the wiring that was still exposed after I was done. Been good since.

I striped the insulation, then apply some shrink tube to protect it. The trick was to cut the wire at just the right length so I had room under the fender to reconnect the wires and install the shrink tube...I just made it...Good luck.

I cut the wires and just soldered them and put shrink tube around them.
