So who has a 2010 FXDC?

Generally speaking, yeah the weather down here is spectacular. But not this year. We had the coldest, wettest Winter in memory. Then in May, which is usually the most beautiful Month down here, it went overnight from cold to HOT. I don't mean hot like up North. I mean brain-frying, roast yer nuts HOT. Overnight.
I didn't just start noticing the weather because I got a new Harley, either. For the twenty years I was on a Harley sabbatical, I was a boater and a diver. The wife's a certified diver too. We pulled the boat to the Keys many times.
Sold the boat. Got tired of the maintenance and, besides that, it got to where there were so many GD boats on the water, so many rooks, so many kids acting like morons, so many posers, that the Marine Patrol, Sheriff's Dept and Coast Guard turned into the Gestapo. Couldn't go anywhere, couldn't do anything without running into people in their poser-boats acting like morons. Amateur hour on the water sucks.
I've seen knock-down, drag-out fights at the boating ramp, too. And I DO mean fights. Getting the boat in and out of the water was a hassle. And the environMENTALists would put up a helluva fight every time we tried to build new ramps. The number of boats more than doubled during the same time the number of boat ramps went down because of land development, new Condos and houses, etc.
Plus the fact that boating is hard work for an old man like me. Seriously.
So anyway, this morning I go onto the back porch to have a ciggy and it's 85* and 75% humidity. At 9:00AM. It's like a sauna right now.
I promised myself last night that I was gong to take the scoot out this morning for a little putt. But the roads are still wet, there's a hot mist in the air and the A/C was calling me back into the house.
But it won't last forever. Been here 33 years and I know what 'normal' weather is like down here. Just kinda sucks that the same time I buy a new Harley, God decides that a year of lousy weather is on the menu for where I live.

Don't feel so bad. I rode yesterday in SC with a heat index of 105+. Worst damn idea I've had this month. lol

G: Goes with the territory. With you as her father, I'm 99.9% certain she's going to be a fine young woman someday.
I'd like to tell you it gets better, but it doesn't. By age 13 she'll be out-smarting you left and right. But not momma. Momma's hip to that stuff. It's hard work raising a child correctly, but it's worth the gray hairs. Trust me on that one.

G: 105 to 110 Heat Indexes have been the every-day norm for us for the last 2 1/2 Months. Fer real. Crap, even the water, the Gulf 'surf' temperature is in the 90s. It'll get better. Always has, always will.
Eventually I'd like to replace the stock rear shocks, they suck for lack of adjustment. They're either too soft or too hard (I weigh 185 lbs). Also would like a better looking and sounding exhaust, more bass yet not wake the dead noisy.
Bottom line, great bike but expect too spend at least another $2k to get it right.
Later
Frank
