Default 07 bob first mods.

I recently picked up an 07 fxdb and already looking to mod. I came across a few good deals on "wanted" parts and I am debating on pulling the trigger.

I want to start small, V&H slip-ons, SE stage 1 Air Cleaner, and a Fuel Pak or the commander 3 - I'm not sure which I am better off with. I can get the commander for 200-220 used, but the fuel pak would be purchased new for 200.

I also had a question regarding the stage 1 cleaner kit, is it intended to be used with the stock air cleaner cover?

I really like the look of this design,http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US but I can't quite make out what is it and what type of cover its used for. It is listed as an insert but i'm not sure where its being inserted .

If not I think this will do, http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

I also looked at Arlen Ness air cleaners, he has some nice looking billet kits, but I didn't see anything for 07 dynas. Maybe I wasn't looking well.

As far as fuel pak vs commander, I'm not planning on doing much else to the bike, just exhaust and air cleaner so I don't know if I need all the features of the commander.

What do you guys think?

The first link is just an insert that goes in the center of the cover. The second link is a round chrome cover. I have the same one and even though I have the Big Sucker a/c it should fit on the SE.
IMO you should get the PC3, the Fuel Pack has its limits and works better on some bikes than others. The PC3 will give you a lot more flexibility in tuning.

Fuel pak will just adjust open loop, not closed loop where you will spend most of your time in. The narrow band O2 sensors will keep it at 14.6 AFR during closed loop. That is why the Screamin' Eagle Race Fueler is worthless on the new NBO2 bikes. BTW, SE Race Fueler can be found for $50 discounted from the $229 list SRP. Open loop is 12.5 to 13.9 AFR - plenty rich enough. The PC does not use the O2 sensors. It is a remap that stays in open loop. XiED voltage divider that attaches to the O2 sensor will trick the ECM into thinking the bike is lean with lower bias number than the 500 that the ECM is looking for and therefor the ECM will add fuel. The added fuel will cause the NB O2 sensor to see a much higher bias number but the divider brings it back down to the bias number the ECM is looking for. I went with the SE stage 1 heavy breather, SE race slip on mufflers and the remap. The remap ($160) ensures proper VE for the increased airflow, advances the timing and raises the rev limiter from 5500 to 6200. The XiED richened up the closed loop to 13.8 which greatly reduced the heat from the bike. The bike is definately running richer with the XiED. How do I know, the soot from the exhaust. 1st 400 miles without there was very very little. Pipes still looked clean on the inside. After install and 100 miles, they were considerably more sooted. I am happy with my mods.
