buddy of mine has denim street bob and wanted to find out if windex would be okay to use on denim paint? Also, would S100 degreaser would be okay to use on denim (mainly use to engine area but in case it touch the denim)? Any advice ya'll may have for my buddy would be great.
HD told me that the ammonia in the Windex was bad on the paint, to use the HD denim cleaner. But they may just be trying to sell me more product, anyway, it sounded like a good reason to stay away from Windex. ;-)

For light deposits, use glass cleaner ( ammonia base ) and H-D Soft Cloth. This helps remove finger prints and light soil.
For final detailing use H-D Gloss with H-D Soft Cloth.
For heavy deposits:
a. Use grease cutting dishwashing detergent and a clean H-D wash mit. ( Dilute the detergent per the instruction provided by its manufacturer.
b. Rinse thoruoghly with clean water.
we use soap and water or a lesser glass cleaner than windex.
I believe it tells you in the manual that glass cleaner is ok.
s100 is pretty gnarly I've seen it stain denim paint.
I use diluted simple green, windex, or the HD denim cleaner. Depends on what i have available at the time. HD told me any of these would work just fine and they do....
