I use the HD denim cleaner, but nothing replaces a good wash. With that said, I use a car cleaner that doesn't say "wash & wax", just a good car wash soap and then wipe down with microfiber towels. When I use the HD denim cleaner it usually doesn't involve removing bugs with it, but mostly to take off dust or morning dew type dirtiness.

I know I am going to catch allot of poop over this reply but windex is not good for your paint jobs. Yes it works well and shines but it does attack your clearcoat or paint and it dries it out over time. When it dries out, more and more grit will embed itself in your paint job and that starts the break down process on your finish and paint. Take an unwaxed portion of your bike, put your fingers in a plastic sandwich baggy and then run your finger tips over your finish or paint job. You will be able to feel that grit on your fingertips as you rub the baggy over your finish. Dawn or dish soap also dries out your paint and it also dries out all your rubber and vinyl on your bike over the years too. Just my .02 on the matter.

Windex is not good for Gloss. It is good for Flat/Denim. HD even sent out a bulletin stating to use windex when Denim first came out and HD did not have a cleaner. I have used Windex and a microfiber for over a year, and my finish still looks like it did off of the showroom floor. I just hit 9000 miles.

Denim has no clearcoat. So we're all good.

it does have a clear coat, with a dulling agent...windex will not hurt it... On gloss finishes it also will not hurt it..other than stripping off the wax..you are fine to use it ,but rewax after a few cleanings...don't wax denim
