Brand new to this Form. Need a little help. My Son-in-Law has a 1995 Wide Glide that has gone through three rear mounts in the last couple of years. (guessing under 15000 mi since the first replacement.) Has any one else had this problem? He has done the work himself. Is there something that he is not doing. Is this an engine alignment problem? Any input gladly accepted
I would think that a spruthe or true track would limit the motion of the mount and possibly make it last longer. I have not tried either but looking at how they are mounted they eliminate the lateral motion of the mount.
I helped him do the R&R and in each case the rubber was torn from the metal bracket on both sides. No question about what failed.
Just talked to him on the Phone and He reminded me that the front one failed first, then after that we replaced the rear twice.
Engine alignment???????

If the motor isn't alinged it would shake the fillings out of your teeth before it tore a mount. I don't think thats the problem. Does he ride it hard, wheelies and burnouts? A truetrack will stop it. Is the frame straight?
