Default Tires

Well I have about 7500 miles and the rear tire is down to 3/32".

Started shopping and after two days of wondering what the heck I found a wide tire kit for $179. It's $256 retail. I am planning on getting it and will probably install it myself. The dealer wants over $300 to put it on.

It's gonna kick my back tire up to the screaming eagle GT502 180/60B17.

Has anybody done this? It doesn't look like it is too much trouble. Just want to know what to look forward to.

I also have an 8" billet oil cooler kit on the way.

I have got to stop buying stuff for this Dyna.

Yea Right!

I bought the just the tire from a member on here, from what I've read, you don't really need the kit that HD sells.

I have also read that replacing the front with the matching tire will make the bike handle better.

I'm guessing that these tires are better quality than the stockers...I'm not real crazey about them.

Where did you order your tire from? I am thinking about odering the front from www.MandMCycles.com.

Where did you find the kit for that price? That's a good deal. I'm planning on bypassing the kit and just installing the tire. The cheapest price I've found so far on the tire is $150.50 from Zanottis. Still got another $15 on top of that for shipping but that still about $30 cheaper than the local stealer.

I was talking with my parts lady and was joking about getting a better deal out of town. She gave me 15% off the tire if I let them mount it. Said i didn't need the kit since I had installed the turn signal relocation kit and put the saddlebags on.

I was planning on letting them do the work anyway. so I got the tire for $156.36. Part number 43197-04 GT502 180/60B17.

They had to cut the bolts off that hold the saddlebags on. They extended out far enough that they would have ripped the tire. I'm glad my mechanic saw that.

I could tell the difference in this tire when I pulled out of the dealers driveway.

I'm happy!

The $300 was to install the whole kit. Only cost $105 to install and balance.

I am happy with the pipes Patch.

Wrapped them last week,
Vance and Hines Short Shots Staggered,
of course the heat shields are removed.

I do want to swap them out for a 2into1 soon though.

Will sell these then.

You should put the matching SE front tire on when you do the rear, it makes an amazing difference. oregonrider.
