Thanks, I hate I am already having to adjust the clutch. My bike has 2300 miles on it and I had the HD 1000 miles service done at 1100 miles. I have a gut feeling it's the fluid but since I am in there I won't mess anything up by adjusting the clutch even if it doesn't need it right?
Long as follow the video you will cause no problems for yourself.
The fact is that your bike is still settling into what it will be like as it gets a few more miles on it.
Minor annoyances like checking the clutch adjustment aren't uncommon.
If the adjustment doesn't do the job, take it to the dealer for warranty service. something that they should fix would have to be the problem. let them take care of it.
I was telling one of my buddies at work today about my problem. He said not enought fluid could be causing this. As I said above, I just dumped a quart in per the manual and that was it.
I am not sure, just a thought.
I haven't gotten a chance to check it yet. Here in Alabama the heat index is 115 degrees and my man cave does not have A/C yet.
i was reading all this do you have to adjust the clutch all the time i havent adjusted mine when i got it it had 15000 miles on it now it has 27000 miles on it doesnt sound like it is slipping i adjusted the cable though.
Well, I thought of another way to describe what was happening. The other night when I was riding the street was wet. When I accelerated it felt like the back tires was spinning on the wet surface( it was not) but that was the feeling. Like the tire was trying to get traction.
hello, i was out this evening riding my 2010 wide glide. I stopped at a redlight halfway up a hill. When the light turned green i started to accelerate up the hill. In 3rd gear i noticed a hesitaion (like the power wasn't getting to the rear tire). I noticed throughout the ride tonight that it did it a few more times in the higher gears. It feels and sounds like the engine is making power but it's not getting to the rear tire. (it will hesitate and then jolt forward my first thought was the clutch slipping, i also thought it could be bad gas but the engine cranks and idles fine. this is what i have done recently to the bike when i started to notice the problem: 2.5 quarts amsoil in engine 1 quart 20/50 amsoil in primary 1 quart severe duty amsoil in trans shimmed front engine mount 2 washers on top and 2 on bottom. thank you very much for the help and info. I take pride in my bike running 100%. It makes me sick to my stomach when it's not. Thanks
Is this a trick question? If you are concerned about all the witches brew in the three holes, why did you use them? Maybe you just needed to be in second gear?

I had a problem with my 1999 low rider like that , i had changed my primary and trans oil using the Harley Synthetic and i was having all kinds of problems soon after, clutch was slipping , could not shift into 3rd gear at high rpm , sometimes it would jump of of gear , i ended up draining the fluid out of the trans and primary and taking off the primary cover to clean it all it out i then replace the clutches with Barnett's but i still had the problems like i had before , all i know is i never had the problems until i added the Synthetic oil all this happened in 2005 i ended up selling the bike for the new 2006 Street Bob anyway and swear to this day i will never use Synthetic oil again in anything unless it comes factory installed like my 1994 Vette did ( Mobil one )

I used amsoil because from what I read on this forum and others amsoil is a very good oil. I am pleased with it in the engine and trans just not sure about the primary.
