Loctite doesn't lock, nor is it tight...

There I was, on the highway riding home when suddenly...hello? What's this? My retro HD air filter cover has fallen off, and luckily for me, my knee caught it between it and the engine! DAYUM! I pulled over onto the shoulder, and stuffed it into my backpack.

Now I've lost the bolt and have no idea how to secure it back on PROPERLY. I used Loctite on the threads of the bolt and now this happens? I understand vibrations can knock stuff off, but this is just stupid.

What now fellas?

+1 on getting another bolt.

I've never used lok-tite on my a/c bolt. I also don't torque it to spec other than me tightening it till it's tight, then go just a hair more. Haven't lost one yet.

mine has a lock washer between the cover and the filter, no loctite

Put a smudge of antisqueeze under the head of the bolt. This will protect the chrome from flaking. Then either blue locktight and torque to spec or turn it till it smokes and then give it an eigth
