I was wanting to know if Street glide shocks would fit my 07 street bob ? If so what year would I need to get? I do 2 up riding mostly and would really love a little better ride. Pro's or con's would be nice. Thanks, Slick *****
i ran the shorter ones and ripped all the wires out from under my fender.... 3x's then i redid how i routed the wires... ended up selling htem for progressives, now i am going bakc to air, you can rip turns on the progressives but they ride like crap, bounce all over the place. the ride with the air shocks was1000000% better!
I have them on my FXDC and they seem to work nicely once you get the right ones (not China copies) on there. First I had the lowering chinola ones which were both too soft AND too short. Even with nearly 60psi they would drag the exhaust bracket in even the mildest turn (from a dead stop RH turn no less) no matter if two up or solo. I also found that the ride height stays about the same regardless of how much air is in them, this seems to hold true of the HD ones as well.
Next I got a set of non lowering (12.75OAL) and things got much better, no more dragging stuff, rides just as nice (chinola ones did ride smooth) and they need much less air, I think I had about 12psi solo and 20 2 up.......no more pounding and have yet to do anything bad handling wise. Best of all............brand new take offs on ebay $71. The non lowering ones go much cheaper because eveyone is pulling those off, the lowering ones will cost you more. Note: the ones ending in -09 can handle more pressure.
Thanks for the info. Not alot of help in these parts on stuff like that. I try to research, but I'm not that good with computers and if its not in the Harley shops book, they dont know ****.
