If you have highway/crash bars - can get the HD helmet lock for ~$19. I know my bike's not a dyna, but the cheap HD locks works for me & I've crammed two FF helmets onto one lock. Sucks to hear about your brain bucket getting lifted - there are real "model citizen's" in this world that have nothing better to do than mess w/other people's stuff. Just have to figure - their day will come...

Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

If my $60 or $40 helmet is with me, I leave it. When I have my $285 full face, I ALWAYS bring it with me.

Never underestimate a thief. Too bad you weren't there when he was picking it up.

It sits on the seat. What's funny, is that I've probably spent more for the stickers that are on the helmet than I have on the helmet.

never really thought about it. all the sportbikes and metrics I have owned in the past all had rider and passenger helmet locks built into the bikes.

At a local stop/hang I hang it on the footpeg. In a transient public lot like that of an Applebees or "Gentlemans Club" etc... it comes with me.

I use a set of S&W handcuffs. I run one end through the D-ring(s), and the other end clamped (tightly) around the handle bars. If I have the wife with me, I pass the chain through the sissy bar and run each end through the D-rings so that each helmet is on either side of the sissy bar. Works great, and I don't think too many A-holes low enough to boost a bucket have a handcuff key on them...

Default Hot Bike writeup

One of the editors of Hot Bike was blowing off steam in the writupes. I guess someone jacked his helmet when he was inside somewhere and when he came out, of course no helmet. So he said well I am only a few miles away from home and he rode home. 1/2 mile from his house he gets pulled over and blasted with a ticket for no helmet. He said I explained to officer what happened and got no sympathy. lost a helmet and gained a BS ticket!! He was pissed.... Carry mine with me, people are stupid and will cut the strap off a helmet not realizing it ruins it.
