Man for me it just depends, I got two helmets now, my first, a scorpion 3/4, I usually always hang it from my left rear pass peg, it's flat black so blends in with he denim black s/b, don't even realize it's there. I just bought a shoei x11 a couple weeks back, now that helmet was considerably more so If I'm not in a place with direct line of site view of my ride, then it comes in with me. That's the nice thing now about having two helmets, if I know I'm gonna be somewhere that I don't want to carry it all day, and I'm not gonna be in direct line of site, no where to sit it like a restaraunt table, then I take my cheap helmet and maybe a gun cable lock.

I hang mine on the handle bar and use a small pad to secure it to one of the cables. cheap, small and easy

Usually just hang it on my mirror or rear directional. So far so good.

I have been hanging it on the handlebar, but I'm often concerned about someone walking off with it. I just got the "Bolt Lock" in and now need to find a spot to mount it. I figured with the different cable lengths, I can cover just about any scenario (well, as long as I have THAT cable with me).

I lock it to my rear rotor with a Master lock. This way you can't roll my bike either.

I never really worry about it, but if I'm in an area where I think someone might swipe it I just wrap the helmet straps around the sissy bar and clip it on. I figure anyone who steals a helmet isn't too bright and won't figure out how out how to undo it. lol That, and it would take more time to unravel the straps than it would to just take it off the seat or peg. That alone might make them think twice. It's just a $35 novelty. It it's gone I have a good excuse to ride back without a helmet. lol
