Picked up my 07 bob today, luvly, had to go straight home as threat of rain but forecast tomorrow is good.Looking forward to putting some miles on it.Anyone heard of any probs with the new exhaust set-up yet.I've heard of one where the valve seized solid!
I am not sure what you meen by the valve. i know on the 06 they put o2 sensors but still not sure if they kept the 07s the same or what they actually did, i cant find much info on the topic. When you look at your bike do you see the o2 sensors, are there anyother cables or wires coming from the muffler?
just got mine yesterday (07 black denim) also! i was told by local guru mechanic to put anti-seize on the plugs immediately because of gaulding. anyone agree with this? going for the reflector removal this morning. just a note but i had bad vibration in throttle grip, is this normal?
I went to the dealeds yesterday and saw the 07s for the first time and from what i could see they are the same as the 06s, so i would agrea with putting something like never seize on the threads of the o2 sensors. When i took them out to change my pipes i didnt have any problems but ive heard did.
Maybe these valves are on Export models only to comply with recent European exhaust noise regs.On my bike there are servo's and cables, one to a valve on the exhaust near the mid-control footrest and one to the air-intake.Also one silencer has a bigger "orifice" than the other and apparently the valve shuts off one of the pipes over a certain rev limit.I want to fit V&A sideshots so if you guys in the USA don't have these valves then there is HOPE!!
Ahh so its true, i had an 06 buell ulysses and that is what they had. In the first week of having it the servo motor went. I know its a different design but i bet the idea is the same. There is a baffle inside that opens and closes at different rpms. I got an aftermarket muffler for my buell and diconnected the cable but didnt unplug the servo motor, if the servo gets diconnected you will get a check engine signal. with just the cable unpluged and new muffler it ran great and no issues, i guess this is what we have to look forward here in the near future.
