My 09 FXD bone stock except for slip ons quit around 105. I weigh 175 but I had the wind screen on that day too.

what I got from that was "it's not stage 1 because it's not harley parts"
correct?

my heavy breather and vance and hines are much less restrictive than the stock equipment, the only thing which I can see that might be a problem is the XiED though I can't really see spending an extra £300 on a power commander and another £300 on getting it remapped when all I might gain is an extra 10mph top speed.

I didn't have time to read all the posts, but a set of Xied's are a fuel fix,not a fuel management system. You won't necessarily get any higher top end just because of that,I believe it has more to do with those extra stones you carry! Also you will get higher speed from 5th at the high end.

that said I've just managed to locate a Power Commander III on ebay from a bikeshop for £170

Which I've bought, says it works with all EFI dynas from 2004-2008, mine's a 2008 fatbob so to me that falls into that category

Mainly I'm getting one to get rid of the ****ing annoying popping and banging from the exhaust on the over-run, real annoying and can't be good for the engine really can it?

we shall see if the PCIII yields better results

so I guess watch this space folks

well the commander was fitted today and the XiED leads were ripped out

bike is running a stock map for bubz 2-2 exhaust and SE filter with stock ecu etc

no change to the top end, in fact its actually lost 2mph!

however, there is a LOT more stomp from anywhere below 90 and it gets there a lot quicker.

Hopefully with some dyno time it'll improve more I hope

How often are you full throttle in 5th or 6th. I can guess..., not as much as NOT up there. If anyone wanted "speed" or "handling" in a motorcycle, we wouldn't be riding these things. Having the 'fastest" slow bike is not a impressive.

I don't know about top speed but I do know my '99 has put a few new bikes in the rear view mirror. Surprised me, I thought even a stock 96 ci would be faster than that.

115-120 is hauling *** on a dyna.....at those speeds (it isnt gonna matter when ya splatter) .....grandmas favorite quote when talking about bikes ...ive had a close call ...high speed wobble at 100 +..dont ride that fast now ....can you get me a big black helmet ,like the guards at buckingham palace wear ....that would make a cool statement to wear in states that dont give you a choice...
