I'll trade you (or jaysonL) even... my TSM for your TSSM & fob. I'll send you mine 1st, you unplug your's & put it (with the fob) in the USPS Priority box mine comes in (I'll include a shipping lable). Install mine & if everything works... ship me your TSSM & fob.
If mine does not work for you... ship it back to me.
Easy... peasy.

You can't just unplug the TSSM and plug the TSM in and be done with it.
You need Harleys digital technician to MARRY the TSSM/TSM to the ECM.
Go ahead and try without marrying them together, the bike will start for about 2 seconds and then shut off.

bigmikaele, the only problem is after you disarm the security system via the owners manual instructions is it will rearm itself after turning off the key the first time.

true, you'd have to disable it everytime after.

I'm also pretty sure you could have the dealer put it in service mode also.

But if you're unsure about it, I would just ditch it.

My bike is protceted by mossberg and S&W and a ka-bar. If you get by those, you can have it.

Is it just me, or wouldn't be simpler to remind yourself to just replace the key fob battery every 3 years? I have my computer's calendar programmed to pop up and remind me to replace furnace filters, smoke alarm detector batteries and my FOB batteries. Why do you guys like to make things a major projects.
I have a 2007 Low Rider and Old Man has a 2006 FLSTC. We've Never had an ounce of problems with the FOB's and replaced the batteries last winter.

I did take the suggestion from one rider. His FOB broke apart from the constant battering from the wind against his Dyna's frame. He put a piece of velcro on the FOB and FRAME....then attached the FOB after he put his key in. No more banging around when he rode, saving the FOB from further trauma and as an extra bonus, when you turn the key off to get gas and the key pops out.....it wont drop to the ground!!!

Make it easy on yourself. There are lots of places on the bike you can secure an extra fob battery so you can have a back up handy. You can even keep one in you wallet.

I had the dealer disable my security before mine even left the dealership. Way I see it is that if someone wants my bike, that security isn't going to stop them.

Not that simple

If your fob takes a dump you can disarm the security system using using the turn sig buttons and your pin and the bike will start. I carry my fob in my pocket so it doesnt bang around the frame when Im riding plus if I forget to take the key out when I stop, and Ive done that a few times, the bike wont start if some one tries to steel it...
