Im running a Michelin Macadam 50 160/70/17. I got mine for $59.85 plus shipping from americanmototire.com. Im thinking about ordering another one to keep as a spare at that price.

I had to go look. Sure enough -- Incredible price. In fact, it seems all their tire prices are strong. Their 180/60-17 Night Dragon is $152.10 -- Great pricing.
Even though I don't need a tire at this point, I'm saving that site.

I bought that same tire last month from Phat Performance for $49.95.So far I like it.
I haven't been on the forums in a long while but seem to remember that there was some reason for not bumping up to a 180, other than wiring.
Something about the rim being too narrow for anything other than the SE Tire and Metz 880.
What do you guys think? Will the 180 fit? Yes I know it is a shorter profile, I won't complain if the back is a touch lower.
Any thoughts? TIA, Del.
BTW, Sorry for jumping in on your thread, I searched but couldn't find the info that I was looking for and this was as closely related and recent post as I could find.
ETA: not worried about wiring issues as I have FLHX TS's installed.

The Storm 2 Ultra 170 is almost an inch smaller in diameter than the stock tire. Specs show the 160 at 166 and the 170 at 170, I am just going to go with the 160.
The 180 won't fit a 4.5" rim, spec shows 5.5".
