Help Diagnose A Problem
260 mile ride Saturday no problems. Washed bike Sunday and blew it dry with a leaf blower as I usually do, however, I didn't take the bike for a short ride as I usually do. This morning was going to ride uptown and bike was running rough, sputtering and popping a bit. Didn't seem on the verge of quitting so I ran a stretch of 50 mph highway into town. Found that if I rolled on the throttle quickly the bike died but as soon as I backed off it caught and ran. Turned around and came back home. Thinking I may have somehow gotten the Power Commander V wet I took off the seat and used a can of compressed air to blow around the connections. Didn't see any water. Put the seat back on and took another short ride. This one didn't go too well at all. Bike backfired several times and died four times (but started back up).
Does this sound like a PC-V water problem? Temps in the 90's here and after riding would have thought any water would have dried or evaporated. Need some ideas.
Also: I have put in all the rubber plugs on the module and used some electrical tape to secure them and help keep water out.
Found the probable problem. Managed to get the OEM ECM connection where it plugs into the PCV circuits apart and sure enough, it was full of water. Blew it out with a can of compressed air and letting it dry now. Question now is how do I keep it from happening again since the connector hangs on the outside of the battery box right behind the back cylinder. No apparent way to protect it.

That connector should be under the seat and under the ECM box, with all the rain I have been in lately I have never experienced a problem with it.
Where you have it unduly exposes it.
I know many put it there, and I think they are the ones having this issue.
I also know it is a tough fit, but it will all fit if you follow PC instructions. I about ripped the thing out the first few tries, but then I watched the video on PC;'s web site and it all fit.
