Default Slip-On Help

I have researched about a million different slip-ons for my FatBob. Like the look of the "tommy gun" so want to keep it for now. Problem is Rush products are the only ones that list their baffle sizes as an option when you buy. I want to stay under 2.00" so I don't have to mod further 'cause money is tight. Can anyone help with some information on the Vance & Hines, Python Mamba, or Cycle Shack slip-ons? Or any other ones you can think of?? Thanks for the help, ride safe.

If you're just doing slip-ons, I have read numerous threads on hdf that claims no further modification is needed. The only limiting factor I am aware of is if you add in a stage 1 (hi-flo) air cleaner. More air = more gas = $$$ towards some type of fuel management device.

This past weekend I replaced my V&H slip ons with Cycle Shacks, the 2" slash cut. They sound great and were around $165. The main reason I got them was because a buddy said due to their baffle design the bike would run better than the V&H, so if I was going to change out the baffles not to bother. He was right.

I have '10 FXDC and put on a pair of Khrome Werks tappered slip-ons (they also make slash cut) right after the 1K service. Also had the Stage 1 kit and download done.
I got the 3" tappered because I wanted to maintain the stock look. They are a little quiet at idle but have a sweet sound at speed and open up nicely when you crank it.
Performance wise I noticed a little difference but of course compaired to stock anything is an improvement. Another thing I noticed was this change eliminated some of the vibration I felt during the 1K breakin. About $260 for the pair and pretty good quality. Very interesting baffel. Check the web site. http://khromewerks.com/

I was about to purchase new Cycle Shack slip on when I came across a set of Rush used on EBAY. I would not hesitate to purchse Cycle shack..if you have trouble deciding I suggest "Youtube"...I did so I could hear how they sound.

I put on the V&H Twin Slash slip-ons. Partly because the size is somewhat similar to the stockers, but mostly because of the looks and they came with Heat Shields that cover all visible parts of the pipes.

No other mods. The bike runs good. I think it does, anyway. No backfires (technically -- afterfire), minor gurgling that was there before but couldn't be heard that much because the stock pipes choked it down so bad. I like 'em.

For now. Probably not the final look I'm gonna go for. But, for now? They're great. Money doeesn't grow on trees in the Grendel household and I gotta save up for the big ticket items. I just couldn't STAND the way bike sounded with the stock pipes on it so, until I get some bread together, decide on which tuner, which air cleaner and which pipes I'm gonna go with (I figure $1,500 - $1,800)? I'm okay with it.

Unless somebody wants to make a sizable donation to my favorite charity (the Grendel Beer and Motorcycle Fund), it's going to be several months until I make my move.

I'm with you guys I mostly went with slipons for now cause Ive already been changing all manner of stuff on my 2010 FXD. I went with the Python Mambas and didnt have to remap at all, noticed a nice boost in performance during excelleration and they sound awesome. They have fully covering heat shields and work with all the stock brackets and hardware. Only cost 299 from J&P Cycles. I'm so glad my bike sounds like a harley now plus drivers can hear me coming and look more, It was scary how many people missed me compared to when I was riding my old 79 Ironhead with dragpipes on it. I think Loud Harley sound does make a difference

I'm running on a complete Vance & Hines and a S&S air cleaner on my 2007 Street Bob, I don't have a management system. The reason is that I had a Powercommander before, but this shut of the Oxygen sensor.... The thing is that sensor is for the regulation of your fuel mixture, it will send information to your ECU in order to addapt the fuel mixture. I've got to say my bike has ran for 8000km without any problems, runs great, never giving the feeling of getting a wrong mixture.
So if you hesitate of getting a complete line, don't!

Each bike is different...mine was giving me decel pop while all stock...I added the Rush slip on's and I don't know if it popped more or if I could just hear them better...I was tired of the decel pop so I went with the PC111 and while I was at it added the SE air cleaner.

Default slip-ons

I installed a set of V & H straight-shots slip-ons not long ago and haven't experienced any backfire or popping. Never had to make any other mods and seems to have more power. One thing is that they are a little on the loud side but not unbearable. Thought about getting the quiet baffles but don't know if its worth it. Any feedback on the quiet baffles?
