Anyone out there have this set up? If so, could you please post some pics and tell me about the extra comfort the highway pegs can add? I just bought a an engine guard because I want the highway pegs. Thanks!
I don't have any pics yet (bike is 1/2 apart right now), but I have the oversize HD Aerlon (spelling?) pegs on forwards and Kury Duelly's with their Magnum Quick Mounts for highway pegs mounted to the engine guard. The Magnums let me put the pegs really close to the guard so I'm not spread eagle. I keep them folded up in town.
With my size 13 paddles, my boots can rest on any 2 at one time (or on the highways by themselves). Lots of options for me. I even thought about adding the mids back in for more options, but thought maybe I'm getting carried away and need to put my butt back in the car. ;-)
Even having to take my foot off the highway peg to shift up/down to adjust for traffic on the slab was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be. I sometimes find myself putting my foot on the heel rest instead of the main forward peg when moving back, but it's pretty obvious without looking down that I've missed it. Since I tend to use the front brake more than the rear, it's no big deal. If I really need to brake fast, I don't worry about trying to hit the peg and go for both brakes instead (have yet to miss the rear like that since I've got that huge club to smack it with).
I'm a believer.

Reason: Light bulb went off.
I am going to put a crash bar with highway pegs just so I can stretch my legs a little farther, the forward controls are'nt quite out there far enough plus it gives an extra place to put your feet on long rides.
I bought one to use on my iron butt ride and the highway pegs were great. Gave me a lit of extra foot postions. I took it off after the run but plan to use it when traveling. I don't really need it on a 300+ mile day.
