Default Mothwell Rack ?
What's the difference between the 6" and 7" racks?
Is one used for a laydown license plate ?

Looking at the pictures and description on their website, it looks like the 7" has the extra length at the end closest to the seat, not the license plate end. It has a more square appearance on the seat end than the 6". The 7" also uses thicker tubing on the outside rails, so has a beefier appearance. Unfortunately neither will fit with a Corbin Classic Solo seat, so I have to wait until they produce one that will fit. They have promised that one is in the works.

I have the FXD SOLO LUGGAGE RACK (MWL-510) on mine. I do not know if that helps, but its about 6" wide...
