Wet heavy breather
Got caught in heavy rain yesterday without the rain sock for the heavy breather. I carried it everywhere for 2 years and left it laying in the shed yesterday. Bike just quit going down the road like it had no spark, in the course of messing with things i took breather off(i have a carb bike). Bike fired right up. It quit again when i pulled in for gas. Same thing. I really didn't know they would just cause bike to stop running if running uncovered in the rain. This ever happen to anyone else?
This happned to my car yrs ago. The filter is wet so its sucking moisture into the engine. The spark plugs are getting fouled, causing them not to have spark. They will dry out! Now pending how much water you sucked up you may have to change our your motor oil. Also drain the carb bowl! Check your oil if it looks a little milky change it! Other wise your good to go. Just have to maybe clean off the spark plugs and let the filter dry out!
Mine is fuel injected, but I don't trust the rain. I gotta find mine and staple it too the inside of my saddle bag. Just not today, maybe tomarrow. I gotta tear apart the mechanic shop and find it. least I know it is in one room, Just don't know where lol.

How long since it's been cleaned and reoiled? that would be my guess as too why it sucked up so much water.

I just did that a couple weeks ago. Guess it got washed again. Funny thing is once i filled up and got it running the second time it ran the other 40 miles home in the rain just fine. Maybe the fresh K&N air filter oil clogged up once it got wet and then the oil washed out. Who knows?

Better off getting a sock, just a heads up, be quick about it. Here in the ne we've had a good dry spell. So when it does rain there may be a push on rain socks. people don't use them and then they get lost.imo.
