Default Tire Question
I have an '07 Lowrider and do alot of highway riding and long trips, currently I have a Dunlop GT502 180/60B17 on the rear (it comes with the H-D wide tire kit), I love the way it sticks in the twisties here in the Ozarks, but will be lucky to get 5000 miles out of it. Can anyone recommend a possibly dual-compound front and rear that will fit on my bike that will give me exception mileage? My front is the standard 100/90-19. Thanks.

I just installed Michelin 2CT dual-compound on my Dyna. I love them.

You can have traction or durability. You don't get superior traction in a tire that lasts forever.

After the original Dunlop I changed to the SE 180 which was a lot better holding the road and lasted about 7000 miles..center of the tire went bald but had loads of meat left about 2" each side but still illegal,am on a 170 Avon Storm II dual compound tire now..grips just as well and with the Avon Venom 110 up front it just drops into corners (more so than with the 180)..but how long it'll last over the SE 180 I don't know yet but seems to be holding up well...

before I got my metzler I had the SE 180. I changed it out with 10,000 miles and it still had tread left. I have been lucky to get ~8k on my Metzlers and consider it a good day. I would rather have the traction. But only getting 5K is a little low.
