The 2006 Dynas had these issues:

1. Shift detent/neutral light NTSB recall(you will be covered)
2. 8 degree fuel injector TSB (replace with CVO 25 degree injectors $200)
3. Battery box bolt recall ( you are covered)
4. Inner primary bearing failures on 1st half of year models without alignment dowels( you should be covered)
5. Stator failure issue ($300)

If you get the bike PM me and I'll send you the TSB on the fuel injectors.

Thanks for all the responses! I'm meeting the guy in a few hours to check it out.

KBFXDLI thanks I'll definitely PM you if I get it. If everything checks out I still won't be able to get the bike until the morning when the banks open.

Just thought I'd throw this out there, it is possible you may get a 2006 with none of the above mentioned issues.I've had mine since 2006 and I've had no problems with the inner primary bearing, injectors, or the stator. It did have a noisy front end (see front end clunk) that was fixed under warrantee but that's it.

I probably won't worry about any of these problems until there is a problem. It's nice to know this stuff in advance though!

I think I'll be very happy with the bike, unfortunately I have to go out of town for a week for work and won't be able to ride it.

Newer ones have the grey motor I think as well.

Nice snag. I have an 06. Other than a fuel pump issue right after I got it, it runs like a raped ape.

If 2006 was the first year of the Street Bob, I'm curious how you own a 2005.
