Definitely be putting a ton of miles on this one! Got it so I would have a bike I could ride in this great Alaska weather without having to spend all my time polishing it.

Start watching ebay for a service manual used. I got all 3 for 19 bucks each. I also bought all the chrome upgrades on ebay as well for less than 1/2 msrp and sold my stock parts as well.

I may make a few small cosmetic changes over the winter, but I think I'll mostly be concentrating on figuring out what I want to do to the motor. After all the point of this bike for me was to have something I could just ride the hell out of and not worry about being the prettiest thing on the block. I've got the Low Rider for that. I just need to figure out if I'm going to go big with the motor or just do a cam swap or basic 95" kit?

Nice grab on the bike, that's a great price!

I don't think there were very many 06's with dowels. Mine has a build date of 04-06 and it doesn't have dowels. The bearing failed at 14,500 and the rotor came apart at 19,000.

I'm also looking to purchase soon an 06 SB with less than 8K miles. Attractive bike so I came here looking for potential/possible issues. Seems like most can be fixed with "reasonable" cash outlay?

Default 2006 dyna street bob, My 1st,

I've always had Springer Softails, used to the smooth ride and milder vibration.
The Bob seems more aggressive, quick, thought the bike runs and sounds great, it's beginning to hickup, cut out in turns, starting to get popping and grumbling during acceleration, has filter, and Screaming Eagle Pipes, don't know if it was tuned,, Is it normal to feel the vibration and motor so intensely???
What Street Tuner u guys recommend.
