Done all the time. Usually end up with a better seat. Don't know where you are in Jersey but this is what came up first with a google search.

Just do a search in your area for motorcycle upholstery and I'm sure you'll come up with something.

Ditto, I had mine done locally by an upholstery guy in the Houston area and my solo seat is much more comfortable than before.

I had my stock Lowrider seat re-padded with miracle foam by Bar Enterprises.

110% better. Find them here: http://www.harleyseats.com/

It cost $240 plus shipping but miracle foam takes 90% of the frame vibration off your butt. I can ride 3x farther than before.

Had mine done at Mean City also. I had seat reshaped and memory foam installed in both rider/passenger seat areas. Cost about $175 I think, can be much cheaper depending on what you want done. They have pricing on their website. www.meancitycycles.com
Much better than stock.
