throttle troubles
I got the bars installed, now the throttle does not like to go back to the normal position and when giving gas it acts like it is going to die. Any ideas of why? I can also smell more gas than I normally do.
I have the 100th Anniversary handlebar grips on my Dyna as well as the chrome switch housing kit. Click the links and you'll find the instruction sheets for both items, showing how to remove the old and install the new grips.
I'd advise to hang a plastic bucket on the right hand side of the handlebar to catch the brass ferrule in case it falls down.

Check the step by step instructions and the diagrams to find out if you did the re-install in the proper way.
Pay special attention to the throttle set screw (click link to see poor man's cruise control, item 72 + 66 in image). The black half moon piece (item 66) goes between your throttle sleeve and the thumb screw.
