Just picked up my 2011 Street Bob and would like to go from the stock 12" bars to 14" Burly Narrow Apes. I remember a thread somewhere saying how much you could do without having to add extensions, but I cannot find it. Is it possible to do this with the stock cables and wiring? It looks possible. The only ones that look close are going to be the throttle cables. Any ideas?
Back it up, back it up, back it up.... So you are saying your 2011 model has 12" bars? Someone was just on here the other day saying that all of the 2011 Street Bobs come with 8" bars. Are you positive about the bar height? Can you post a pic just to show us.

A little off topic Ghost, but from one Texan to another, I just absolutely love your avatar. Could watch it all day.

This is what HD claims, I think the way common sense would measure (straight up from base to bend) is different from how the bar manufacturers and HD do it (diagonally from the lowest part of the bar to the highest).
I had a very hard time believing that my stock bars were 12" until I measured that way. I think that the narrow center and bar diameter makes the bars look lower than they are. Looking at a set of Chubbys that are also 12", they look higher, even though they really aren't. The diameter and center width gives that illusion I guess. Personally, I hate the BMX diameter bars wit the narrow center that HD chose, but I guess that is why so many people change their bars to begin with..

On my 08 I went from stock 10" mini apes to 16" apes. Switched the clutch cable to the right down tube is the only thing major I did, everything else worked. Oh and straightened out the 90 degree turn on the throttle cable.
