$300.....HA! Other than that the 440's are the best Progressive makes and have the IAS that Edelbrock created for their car shocks. For me the difference was the ability to set the 440's tight enough that they could support me and the wife riding two up yet still be soft enough when she got off the bike that I could ride solo and not have to always readjust the shocks. Something I could not do with the 412's. And for me the 440's just rode smoother....alot. But in all fairness to the 412's, I have had a number of them over the years and for the money they work fine. They are NOT a specialty shock like Ricor, Penske, or Ohlins but the cheap price reflects that.
