Here are my 15" apes with stock cables. Just had to move the clutch cable to the right down tube and take out the 90 degree bend in the throttle cable. The only reason I spliced the wiring was because of the bends wouldn't allow the prongs through.
Hate to bring this up again, but in 09 and 10 they are not 12", they are 10" according to the part numbers and size chart. The newest 2011 are only 8" according to HD's web site.
14 are +6. 16 are +8. 18 are +10. There are many variables involved, but this is what I use.

I guess I need to recalibrate my measuring tape, cause I get 12" when I measure them. Not only that but they are also taller then the bars I had installed on my sporty that came of an 06' SB.
Depends on HOW you measure. It's not bottom to top, that would show more but is not measuring the actual rise. Top to Top measures rise.
Machinist by trade, I measure center to center. I am not saying that either of us is right or wrong, I just don't trust everything I read from the MoCo. Tech editors don't always know the real deal, just what they are told to write.
Center to center works, since I don't have a newer one all I can go by is what is published, so you may be correct. I know when I bought my Wild1 12" apes, they measured 13, so who knows .. maybe they measure the same way womens clothes makers measure, to make you think you are smaller....LOL
Word!!! Who knows maybe my dealer hooked me up by setting the bike up a little different when they put in on the showroom floor! Who knows, who cares, all I know is they still are not high enough for me. I just need to save the $$$ so I can get all I need to put new bars on mine.
